SCOTT KELLEHER, WORLD'S OLDEST COWBOY (PEOPLE 2024)
At 92 years of age, local cowboy Bob Holder is the world's oldest competing cowboy. Here is a photo of him in the Cootamundra Rodeo Street Parade two days before taking to the arena once again to compete in the roping events. 'I just wanna be a cowboy and stay a cowboy,' Bob says. And he was just that at the BOB HOLDER ARENA, its new name unveiled the following Saturday at the grand entry of the venue he established in Cootamundra all those years back. I was very tempted to submit the capture of him in the saddle at the event but this one I find more valuable with the juxtaposition of the youngest cowboy in the back of the carriage and his grandson beside him. Good on you Bob.
