The SAHMRI building is one of the most photographed buildings in South Australia, but unless you work there, rarely do you have the opportunity to see this magnificent structure from the inside. Fortunately, I was presented with the opportunity to tour this striking building in 2024 and naturally I jumped at the opportunity! This building has more than 15000 triangular windows and these windows are more than just aesthetically appealing. They represent the SAHMRI approach and mission. Researchers can look out the windows and see the community from all around and it's a constant reminder of why their work matters and who they are doing it for. Similarly, we can look in and see the progress researchers are making. These windows signify the hope for a happier, healthier future for us all. I am so grateful to the staff at SAHMRI for opening their doors and allowing me to capture some of the essence of their mission.
