Lois Roberts, Window-Mansion (PLACES 2026)

This magic photo was shot indoors at Ripponlea Mansion in late Spring last year. I shot it with a Canon 1500D using a low ISO 160 Wide aperture f/5.60 and a slow shutter speed 1/50. Due to the low light the colours did not permeate it as I'd hoped but the light was sufficient for an easy "mono" shot. I wanted to evoke the mansions history which included Hollywood's superstars during the 1940s. I thought the bird depicted within the lacework pattern made it into a magical composition
