There is something quite magical about dragonflies – I love the intricate detail and patterns of their wings, a balance of strength and fragility. In this work, I wanted to create a moment of connection between my two wild children and these ethereal creatures. I wanted them to be able to look up at me through the wings of the dragonflies. Balancing them was a little tricky, but we managed to make it work, although we had to be quick as they were a little precarious. I am drawn to the quiet intensity in their expressions and the way my daughter’s hair fans out. I love the way the dragonflies seem to become part of them, seamlessly linking them with nature.
