Kate Flowers, Wildling warriors (PEOPLE 2025)

I found some beautiful feathers which I knew would work well in black and white, and I wanted to make them into a necklace so that it would fan out around them, resembling a cloak. I wanted to evoke the presence of traditional warriors, as they stare out and gaze directly at the viewer. With the smoke layer, you can almost imagine a fireplace is nearby. My wildlings have a strength of spirit, and like the feather cloaks they wear, they are strong, fragile and beautiful.
