I found some beautiful feathers which I knew would work well in black and white, and I wanted to make them into a necklace so that it would fan out around them, resembling a cloak. I wanted to evoke the presence of traditional warriors, as my daughter stares out and gazes directly at the viewer. She has a strength of spirit, and like the feather cloaks she wears, she is strong, fragile and beautiful.
