Lasitha Liyana Patabendi, Walking on the Stars (ANIMALS 2025)

This was taken in my garden veggie patch in this Autumn. These Green stink bugs are a pest and they make holes on the leaves and also they release chemicals that burns the surface. I wanted to bring some art with the damages done to the leaves. So I back lit the leaf with white lume cube light and captured the shot. It was not easy to find the the perfect light and the position of the bug. Once the photo was processed to black and white , it did the magic. The mono effect gave the perfect dreamy Milky Way and the stars like view to the natural damage of the leaf done by the Bug. Gear- Canon EOS R5 , Canon Macro 100mm 2.8 RF
