Richard Perin, Uncle Max (PEOPLE 2025)
Uncle Max Eulo is a well-known Aboriginal elder in Sydney, Australia, recognized for his role in smoking and welcome ceremonies. He has a rich history, having lived off the land and traveled extensively, including to America and New Zealand. He was born near the Darling River in Bourke and grew up in Enggonia, a small community in New South Wales. In his younger years, he worked as a stockman and drover, and even had a stint as a boxer, earning the nickname "Snow White" due to his dark skin. Later, he became involved in acting and worked with disabled people for over fourteen years. Uncle Max has strong connections to Redfern, a historically significant area for Aboriginal people, and has been a familiar face in Sydney’s Circular Quay, where he performed regularly.
