Fatimah Rosario, Trine (PLACES 2025)

In photography, I believe that good timing is one of the few components that contribute to a good photograph. In this case, I happened to be at the right place, at the right time, as I managed to capture the moment where three wind turbines synchronised. If this picture was a homonym, I would call it 'trine'. Essentially, 'trine' is defined as a threefold, and in Astrology, the term is used for describing a 120 degree aspect between planets (and it signifies harmony). Here, you can see 3 wind turbines spinning in unison, and in each turbine's 3 blades, the angle in between one another is 120 degrees. Therefore, these aspects of the subject, simultaneously meet the definition of 'trine' in different ways. When I took this shot, the sky had a form of stratus clouds and this was a result of the wind farm situated near the sea. Though, the clouds are barely visible in the picture, I have edited the sky to retain subtle streaks of the clouds, so that it appears as if it's an animation of wind brushing up against the turbine's blades. This further proves that I was at the right place, at the right time, since it allowed me to synthesise a picture that focuses on the harmonious spinning of 3 wind turbines with the clouds adding a subtle 'wind effect'.
