Ben Campbell, Tower (PLACES 2021)
For me my work has to evoke a certain mood or drama, something someone can get lost in for hours. I use a lot of hard shadows to produce this and this photograph is no exception. I had heard of this building from a friend of mine who suggested I check it out. Every day for the next two weeks I studied this building to see what happened to it when under certain weather patterns. How it looked and felt on a cloudy day compared to a sunny day. This photograph here was taken right at the end of those weeks. Initially I was photographing the opposite side of the building where the sun hit and it was only when I turned around I saw this magnificent pattern emerge from the reflected light off the building.
