The unstable inbetween; This image forms part of the Brain and Flesh series, an exploration of dissociation, embodiment, and neurological recovery. Created in the aftermath of brain surgery, Flesh in Flux captures the sensation of slipping between states—solid and spectral, body and mind, self and observer. The work dwells in a state of in-betweenness. It evokes the disquiet of watching oneself from outside the body, a haunted stillness where flesh becomes abstracted, unstable, and unknowably strange.
