Tashwita Rahalkar, The Universal Glare (ANIMALS 2025)
In the wilds of Panna Tiger Reserve in India, I watched a langur family dynamic unfold that felt instantly familiar. After some roughhousing from a larger male, a young langur sought comfort from his mother. Her reaction was immediate: a long, silent glare directed at the male. In that one look, I saw a story that transcends species—a universal portrait of family, discipline, and a mother's unwavering protection.
