Janusz Molinski, The Swashway between Dover and Erith Islands, Kent Group Islands, Bass Strait (PLACES 2025)

Situated in the middle of Bass Strait between Victoria and Tasmania are the spectacular Deal, Erith and Dover Islands. On this bright but cloudy Autumn day, Dover and Erith Islands, separated by a narrow and low lying rocky swashway, were silhouetted amidst a palette of surreal coruscations. The brightly backlit clouds above the islands created an almost monochrome view of rich black textures and silver seas against a backdrop of a brooding sky. My final image, however, was a full conversion to a black and white photograph that brought back the memories of this wonderful location.
