Jennifer Woolard, The Shark Tower (PLACES 2025)
This timber shark tower built in 1928 by local miners is possibly the last standing shark tower that is intact in Australia. It is an icon of my local beach. I grew up swimming with it standing sentry as did my parents and both grandparents. I still enjoy swimming at this beach in my sixth decade with the almost hundred year old structure still standing iconically on the rocks.
