Through these gates stood a defensive fortress where through the centuries warriors fought to control the surrounding countryside. Here they lived, loved and laughed until time passed them by. Today the ruins stand as sentinels to the past that take your mind and spirit back to a place separated not by space but by time. Each time you walk through the gates you step into and onto the past. Known locally simply as "The Rock""
