Richard Oborn, The placement (PLACES 2025)

In a soaring cathedral this statue of Christ crucified had been placed high up over a side aisle. I was visiting not long after the 2025 Easter observance, so the implication of the Resurrection occurred to me immediately. Regardless of any personal beliefs, the theatre of this placement was there to be seen. The fall of the light provided a highlight that added to to that sense of where the image stood in the corpus of seasonal belief.
