Direct harsh sunlight is generally not a portrait photographer's choice of lighting. Being predominantly a documentary and events photographer mostly leaves me no choice other than to work with mother nature on the day and adapt accordingly. This capture, appropriately titled The Kerouac Kid (who's not a fan of the beat poet classic, On The Road?) is a part of an ongoing conceptual series which has me embracing the shadows cast and hard natural light of the overhead sun.
