Katinka English, The good ol' days (PEOPLE 2022)

Walking through a busy market I gradually began to hear the sound of an accordion playing. I follow the sound and came across this amazing man. Closing my eyes - the music took my imagination back to my last holiday in France. It feels like so long ago. In between songs I asked if I could take his portrait and he was happy for me to do this. I wanted to capture his kind eyes and his hands. I was fascinated by his hands. They looked like workers hands. But they were producing such beautiful music. I shot this using my Nikon Z5 with 24-200mm f/4-6.3 lens. ISO 300, f9, 1/250sec
