Erin McCoy, The girl who remains (PEOPLE 2026)

This image forms part of an ongoing series exploring the girl that was- the traces of the childhood that remain within every woman long after she has grown and in the world after she is gone. I chose to obscure her face and make her timeless so every viewer could be her. My decision on monochrome with movement is to capture a nostalgia, a remembrance of our own girl hood and the enduring connection between past and present. It is a reflection on the girls we once were, the women we became and the girls throughout time whose stories continue to shape us.
