Yi Cao, The Double Harvest (ANIMALS 2026)

I was lucky to have capturing two Rainbow Bee-eaters simultaneously, each with a different prize. This moment reflects a synchronized success: two Bee-eaters perched in good alignment, each clutching a fresh catch. This double-portrait captures the biodiversity of their diet, with one bird holding a delicate butterfly while the other secures a dragonfly. I hope that the shared stillness of the pair against the dark void – has created a sense of camaraderie and survival.
