Michael Tomkinson, The Desert (PLACES 2023)

Formed by natural erosion and strong winds, The Desert is a beautiful area on Moreton Island consisting of steep sand hills surrounded by thick bushland. There was a strong wind blowing sand off the peak of the hill, which I was trying to capture (unsuccessfully). Fortunately the brightly lit sandhill contrasted strongly off the bushland in the background making for a dramatic image.
