Daniel Sly, The Dance (ANIMALS 2023)

During winter the Spencer Gulf, South Australia, becomes a spectacle of nature as hundreds of thousands of giant cuttlefish gather. Here, two males engage in a fierce battle for the chance to mate. Their bodies almost perfectly symmetrical as they display vibrant strobing patterns produced by colour-changing cells in their skin.
