Leeza Wishart, The Chosen One (PLACES 2022)

I captured this image on Chinaman's Beach, Evans Head, just after sunrise. It was a moody, atmospheric scene with dark rain clouds interspersed with rays of sunshine on the horizon. It crossed my mind that the sunshine chose to brighten the day of the lone walker, seemingly lost in their own thoughts.... This photo was taken with my Nikon D500 and a Nikkor 16-80mm lens with an ISO of 100 and an aperture of f9 @ 1/800 sec. To increase the contrast and darken the threatening rain clouds, I took away 4 stops of exposure when capturing the image.
