Peter Hill, The Canyon II (Places)

The famous (or infamous, depending on you point of view) secret canyon in Iceland. Given its location and the damage done to the environment over the years by an overabundance of thoughtless tourists, I well understand the reluctance of the locals to keep it secret. Not that easy to get to, you really need a 4WD, then a 45-minute hike including a river crossing, and a damn good map, but when you stand on the edge of a cliff and look up the canyon it is jaw-dropping breathless.
