The Miena cider gum (Eucalyptus gunnii subsp. divaricata) may be small in number (just a shade under 300, spread across a few dozen hectares) but they have endured. Some have stood stoic against fire, frost, and even occasional flood of Tasmania's alpine plateau for hundreds of years. Sadly, a changing climate has pushed the few that remain to the brink, leaving ghostly corpses behind.
