Faye Milligan, Tawny Frogmouths (ANIMALS 2024)
This pair of Tawny Frogmouths were roosting during the day a tree in our garden that has a lot of native trees including stringybarks which is one of their favourites. During the day their wonderfully designed feathers blend into the tree bark, making them very tricky to see. I was very lucky to spot them in this tree during the day. They stay very still as part of their camouflage technique and this makes them good a subject to photograph.
