Melanie Buschor, 'Sweethearts' (PEOPLE 2022)

This is my father, Colin Merrill, and his partner of many years, Jayne. He is one of Queenslands' leading pastel portrait and watercolour artists. Colin is a member of the Royal Queensland Art Society, the Water Colour Society and the Pastel Society and has won many first prize honours and awards. His portrait clients have included University Deans, high profile business personalities and the late Lady Cilento and Sir Joh Bjelke Petersen. Colin was a much celebrated art personality and beloved icon of Brisbane. He now has dementia and Jayne lovingly visits him every day in the care home where he lives. Colin is deaf and Jayne is totally blind and together they make quite a team! The grainy effect is intentional.
