Alethea Wilson, Static Fluidity (PLACES 2023)

I have loved the complexity of this fountain since I was a child. I finally was able to capture it in a way that does it justice as the designer intended - not just a snapshot of happy people sitting in front if it. The fountain is the Captain Cook Memorial Fountain in Newcastle NSW and is iconic to the city. It was opened by Queen Elizabeth in 1970 and was designed by the late modernist sculptor Margel Ina Hinder.
