Leeza Wishart, Spike (ANIMALS 2021)

I photographed pet Bearded Dragon, Spike, in his owner's living room. The mid-afternoon sun was streaming in through the side window and provided some soft natural lighting to showcase one half of Spike's features whilst leaving the remainder in contrasting shadow. I needed an ISO of 800 to enable me to maximize the aperture to 32 which sharpened the lizard's dramatic spikes and textures. I minused .7 stops because I thought it enhanced the contrasts in the photograph.
