Nilmini De Silva, Spider and the Dew (ANIMALS 2023)

I have been watching the St Andrew’s Cross Spiders in my garden all summer. I love the intricacies of their webs and the red, yellow, silver and black banded bodies of the females. I love watching them devour the flies, moths and bugs that are caught in their web. This image however, was taken on a day that the valley where I live was covered in fog. When the sun rays shone through, the fog lifted leaving the web with these beautiful water droplets.
