Lee Thatcher, Silver Lining (PLACES 2026)

Looking straight up the underside of a timber structure, grained slats radiate like the spokes of a fan toward a single dizzying vanishing point. Made lying beside a hotel swimming pool in Melbourne — a structure most would walk past unseen — the image turns an ordinary fixture into pure geometry. In monochrome it dissolves to line, tone and rhythm: a study in convergence and the extraordinary form hidden in the everyday.
