Tracy West, Silhouetted Giant (ANIMALS 2024)

This photo was taken late sunset in the Drowned Forest, Matusudona, Lake Kariba, Zimbabwe. This male Elephant was perfectly silhouttted against the fading light - I never knew they had such fine hairs on their mouth, belly and trunk but they are now apparent here. As I was watching, there was perfect synchronicity between trunk and tusk.
