In this portrait of Chloe Lee, we challenge the conventions of traditional portraiture by capturing a moment of raw emotion. It explores the contrast between trying to hold ones self back with 'self restraint' while at the same time exploding out with raw emotion. Within the confines of a traditional studio setting, Chloe's unfiltered moment of inner and outer tension has been captured with the power and simplicity of monochrome. Chloe's portrait reveals an authentic and vulnerable side, and presents the viewer with an inner tension that delves beyond surface appearances. By intertwining self-control and passionate expression, the viewer is asked to question their own self restraint.
