alexandra sciberras, SELF PORTRAIT (PEOPLE 2022)

The 7th of November 2019 was the last time i used my camera, i took photos of my entire family, brothers and their families, our parents and my family. Exactly two years ago today, 18th of February, my brother lost his battle to cancer, 9 months later our mum lost hers. Sadly, after all that I've lost my passion for photography, I believe photography is about capturing that moment, that feeling, so when people look at your picture, they know what you were feeling at that exact moment. I have started taking photos with my phone, the quality is not the same, but the emotions of the people i'm photographing are still there. I don't like taking photos of myself, but this time i want to show my emotions, what i am feeling and even though i'm still very sad, i am looking forward to a brighter and happier future, where my passion for photography is completely back.
