Theresa Lee, Sculptured (ANIMALS 2022)

Mention the name 'Australian Ibis' and frequently I hear them referred to as 'bin chickens', because they often have to scavenge for food in our city bins. Here, however, the proud stance of this Ibis projects quite a different profile from its 'bin chicken' reputation. I love the way the shape of the bird's outstretched wings mirror the lines of the rock, as if sculptured together.
