Liz Jakimow, Scarred and Beautiful (PLACES 2021)

This photo was taken in Araluen, one year after the terrible bushfires of 2020-21. The hill has been damaged by bushfires, and yet it survives, as done the Araluen Valley. The community has been scarred, but it is beautiful despite (and perhaps partly because of) the devastation it has faced.
