Hydrogen, one of the essential building blocks for life in the universe. Here it sweeps across vast amounts of space ready to come together to form new stars and planets. But where there is life there is also destruction. The rippling tendrils of the Vella supernova, the remnants of a stars violent death have disrupted the smooth waves of hydrogen turning it coarse and aggressive. An image of stellar life cycle from beginning to end. Taken with a ZWO1600mm (mono) camera using a 3.5nm Hydrogen filter and a redcat 51mm. Image consists of a 3x5 grid mosaic, original image size 14872px by 12641px. Total integration time 67.75hrs
