Godfrey Tanner, Reverie (PEOPLE 2024)
On a recent photographic holiday in Vietnam, exploring the backstreets of a village, this young boy caught my attention as he was so lost in a reverie, it awakened memories of my own youth, and how easily I would stare into space in a day dream, drifting on a sea of thoughts, vaguely aware of being pressed between the pages of a sociology text, and never quite prepared for what life had in store for me. There was a connection. I also like the technical aspect of it being full frame and 100 ISO effectively the best quality my equipment can produce with an 85mm f1.8 prime lens. For me sharpness and detail make the photograph more 'real', possibly more real than the passing moments of my days.
