I came across this male Australasian Darter at Bermagui on the NSW south coast. It was resting on a rock at the harbour entrance on an overcast day. Usually these birds don't let humans approach too close but this one remained calm as I neared it. I was happy with this shot because he has his head curved down creating almost a resting pose. I also like how the simple black and white pattern on his wings is such a clear element of this photograph.
