Mame Du Bois, Resistance (PEOPLE 2025)
Portrait of Iranian-Australian printmaker Niloufar Lovegrove. Niloufar's printmaking work largely focuses on the experience of women in her homeland of Iran, and the fight for bodily autonomy and agency over their own lives - a fight shared by women around the world. Niloufar uses her creativity as an act of resistance to challenge and defy oppression in all its forms, and highlight the oppression of women in her homeland. Niloufar's warm yet defiant regard towards the camera allows the viewer to see Niloufar closely and intimately, and admire her resilience and strength.
