fernanda pedroso, RESILIENCE (PLACES 2021)
On the day of this photo I left the house at around 5:30 am. It was very cold, with a thermal sensation of almost -4º at Canberra. When I saw this scene I thought .... they are crazy! How can they be rowing in the cold? And the penny dropped, I was in the same situation, maybe worse . After all, they were moving, hot-blooded. And me, who was standing, waiting for the right moment to click? Without a glove, with a lot of pain in the fingers because of the cold? So, at the end, I was the crazy I am realizing that when I am photographing I forget the world, I forget the problems. And I believe that’s what happen with them too.
