The herd lay together on the forest floor. Making my way through a maze of antlers, I was delighted to capture the gentle mood at the end of a reindeer’s day, when foraging for arboreal lichen is done, and the herd gently fall into a peaceful slumber. In the Taiga in northern Mongolia, the late autumn shadows are a portent of a bitterly cold night, with a powdering of snow. The reindeer use their spectacular antlers to dig for lichen under the snow and ice.
