In this portrait of Chloe Lee, we attempt to capture more than just a static moment in time. The image questions the typical posed nature of portraits, and instead captures the energy and movement released in a moment of raw emotion. By allowing Chloe to freely express her interpretation of rage, the photographer has captured a powerful and dynamic image that goes beyond the usual constraints of the still image. Through the use of a long exposure, a sense of movement and flow has been created that speaks to the complexity of human emotion. In this portrait the artist draws on his roots as a film-maker to capture time and movement and embed it within a still image.
