Sarah Marjoribanks, Presence (ANIMALS 2026)
A flock of WA Carnaby's Black Cockatoo gathers at water. They are not symbols or statistics. They are families, neighbours and survivors living ordinary lives in an increasingly extraordinary struggle to remain. As I have observed them over seasons, I notice its not the perfect portrait that endures, but the moments where life reveals itself. Curiosity, mischief, patience, affection. The qualities that make them unforgettable. In these moments, monochrome reveals the full contrast of life, still finding its way to shine through.
