Gabi Policinski, Preparing for flight (ANIMALS 2024)

One afternoon towards the end of May last year, it was cold and gloomy as it had been raining for most of the week, and I had been off work due to some cold/flu; this flock of black cockatoos flew over where I live nestling into the trees on the reserve behind the house. I quickly grabbed my camera, braced myself with warm clothes and headed for the down the street to get to the reserve. One of the cockatoos with in a tree that wasn't too tall, and I inched closer and closer taking photos. It finally grew sick of me taking photos of it and stretched out its wing for one final shot before flying away.
