Kate Flowers, Portrait with seaweed (PEOPLE 2024)

In this portrait, my daughter is adorned with seaweed - a reflection of my passion for the natural world and my desire to merge it with images of my children. I wanted to capture the delicate intricacy of the seaweed draped over her like a garment. The dried pods, now a light tone, blend with her hair to create a portrait rich in depth and texture. I adore her strong and direct gaze which contrasts slightly against the delicate nature of the seaweed. She is at one with nature.
