Hanne Matthews, Portrait of an emu (ANIMALS 2022)

I took this picture in Merimbula animal sanctuary, NSW. I had my 70-200mm lens with me and when I was walking towards this resting emu to get a close up picture, she looked at me and made this deep chesty drumming noise to warn me. Because there wasn't any fence between us, I listened and backed away.
