Hannah Connell, Portrait of a Child (PEOPLE 2025)

This is a black-and-white silhouette portrait of one of my children, created in a studio setting. The image draws inspiration from simple line drawings, using light and shadow to reduce the subject to their most essential form. The portrait highlights how few details are needed to still identify the unique features of the individual. The controlled lighting and minimal setup were intentional, allowing the focus to remain on shape, form, and the emotional weight of simplicity.
