Early morning on Chinchilla Weir revealed several bird species hunting for breakfast. This egret had come down and grabbed a fish that was too big to swallow so in the end it dropped it. The take off run to get airborne and begin hunting again had the egret momentarily pass through this somewhat elegant pose.
