Kat Way, Peace at Last (ANIMALS 2025)

This photo was taken at the Elephant Freedom Project in Sri Lanka, where elephants once used for labour and tourism are rescued and given space to heal, rest, and recover. During a gentle bath, she closed her eyes and drifted to sleep, unshackled, unguarded, at peace. In that moment, I saw the weight of her past and the quiet joy of the present. Peace at Last honours her stillness, her strength, and the sanctuary that made this rest possible.
